Handyman in Merthyr Tydfil – Repairs & Odd Jobs

A local handyman for Merthyr Tydfil homes

Merthyr Tydfil's housing is a real mix. There are historic ironworkers' terraces in Dowlais and Penydarren, large post-war estates such as Gurnos and Galon Uchaf, and newer developments on the edges of town, down the valley to Troedyrhiw and Aberfan. Each brings its own small jobs, and that's exactly what The Valleys Handyman is here for.

In the older terraces it's often doors that swell and stick through a wet Valleys winter, sash and casement catches that have worn loose, and walls that need the right fixings before you hang anything heavy. On the estates it's more likely to be tired internal doors, fence panels lost to the wind coming off the hills, and rooms that need a fresh coat of paint. In newer builds, plasterboard walls mean TVs, shelves and mirrors need proper cavity fixings rather than a plug and a prayer.

One call for the to-do list

Most customers have more than one job. Rather than chasing several trades, send us the list: a door that won't latch, a wardrobe still in its box, a loose handrail, a blind that keeps falling down. We'll price it honestly at £75 an hour, with a one-hour minimum, and tell you up front if anything needs a plumber or electrician instead.

Why Merthyr Tydfil customers use us

We work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. If something can't wait – a door that won't lock or a fence down across a path – emergency work out of hours and at weekends is available by arrangement at £150 per hour. Landlords and letting agents are welcome too; we're happy to work through a batch of repairs between tenancies.
