Short customer-facing summary. The full legal wording is in our Terms & Conditions of Service (clauses 5, 11, 12, B6 and C3), which take priority if anything here differs.
Our prices
- £75 per hour — Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
- £150 per hour of work — emergency and out-of-hours work (evenings, weekends, bank holidays), by arrangement. We always confirm this rate before we come out.
- Minimum charge: 1 hour (£75 standard / £150 emergency) per visit. After the first hour, charged in 30-minute increments.
- Materials at cost as agreed, no mark-up, shown separately on your invoice (or you can supply your own).
- Free, no-obligation quotes, valid for 30 days.
- No VAT: we are not registered for VAT, so our prices are not subject to VAT and no VAT is charged.
No deposit — you pay when the job's done
We quote, we do the work, and you pay on completion. For bigger jobs we may agree stage payments in the quote (for example for materials bought for you, or each week of work completed) — never money up front for work not yet done.
When payment is due
Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work — for homeowners, landlords, letting agents and businesses alike. If we send the invoice after the visit, it is payable on receipt and the due date is still the day the work was completed.
How to pay
By cash, bank transfer, or online card payment via a secure payment link we send you. We give a written receipt for cash.
Fraud warning: we will never change our bank details by email or message alone. If you get a message saying our details have changed, call 0739 151 2497 before paying.
Questions about your invoice
If you think something on your invoice is wrong, tell us as soon as possible (WhatsApp, text or email is fine) and pay any part you're happy with on completion. We'll look at it straight away.
If payment is late
All timings below count from the date the work was completed (the due date).
Homeowners and other consumers
- Friendly reminder around 3 days after completion — no charge.
- If still unpaid 14 days after completion: interest at 4% a year above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily from the completion date, and a reminder charge of £10 for each further written reminder (maximum 2).
- If still unpaid around 28 days after completion: a formal Letter Before Action giving you 30 days to pay or respond, in line with the court's Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims.
- If still unpaid: a claim in the County Court / Money Claim Online, where we will ask for the debt, court fees, and interest. We may also use a debt-collection agency.
Struggling to pay? Please talk to us — we would much rather agree a payment plan. Free, confidential debt advice is available from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk), MoneyHelper (moneyhelper.org.uk, 0800 138 7777), National Debtline (0808 808 4000) and StepChange (0800 138 1111).
Landlords, letting agents and businesses
Under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 we may claim, from the day after completion:
- interest at 8% a year above the Bank of England base rate;
- fixed compensation of £40 (debts under £1,000), £70 (£1,000–£9,999.99) or £100 (£10,000+) per invoice; and
- reasonable extra recovery costs (e.g. solicitor or collection-agency fees).
We follow the same reminder timeline (day 3, day 14, then a Letter Before Action around day 28).
For everyone: while an invoice is overdue we may pause remaining work (leaving everything safe) and decline new bookings until it's paid.
Price changes
We review our rates from time to time. An accepted quote or booked job never goes up because of a rate change. New rates apply only to new quotes and bookings, and landlord/agent accounts get at least 30 days' written notice.
